Anteater Express turns over all lost and found items to the UCI Police Department the following morning after the item has been turned in. While we understand the frustration of misplacing an item, Anteater Express drivers are not permitted to call other drivers or staff to locate lost and found items.

Reporting Lost Property
To report lost property to the UCI Police Department, please complete the online report form. Found property is released at the UCI Police Department front counter Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Accepted Property
UCIPD will only accept certain items, and all other items will be disposed following collection from our vehicles.
Items accepted include:
- Bikes
- Sunglasses and prescription eyewear
- Cellular phones
- Keys
- Bags, Backpacks, purses, wallets
- Jewelry
- USB’s
- Computer equipment and accessories
- Electronic devices valued above $300
- Currency
- Cards – Bank card, gift cards, other non-identification cards
- Forms of identification
- Other miscellaneous valuables such as skateboards, tools, etc.
Items not accepted in PD Lost & Found due to volume, sanitary, safety, and biohazard reasons:
- Any type of clothing, including coats, jackets, hats, uniforms, and shoes, regardless of value
- Textbooks, Books
- Water bottles
- Non-scientific calculators
- Notebooks, binders, folders, papers
- Any type of bedding, including pillows, sheets, and comforters
- Any type of room décor, including pictures, lamps, furniture
- Perishable items/food/food containers
- Flammable items (lighters, vape pens, etc.)
- Loose charging cables
- Personal grooming items (combs, brushes, bows, ribbons, scrunchies, etc.)
- Umbrellas
- Any items containing liquids or gel-like substances or items which could leak or melt
- Any items which present a sanitation risk (soiled)
- Any broken items
- Medications
- Syringes
- Pepper spray or other similar substances
- Any items which are sharp and could be hazardous to staff
- Paperwork (i.e. homework) which does not appear to be an official document
- Hazardous waste
- Other miscellaneous items valued under $300
Additional Tips/Suggestions
Return to the route/bus you were on and ask the driver if anything has been turned-in. If not, quickly search the area where you were sitting to look for the item. For routes with multiple buses, if you are unsure of the vehicle number you were on, stay at the stop at which you disembarked and check each bus assigned to that route.
