Please read the following information that explains our employment and training process. If you are selected to be an Anteater Express Bus Operator, you will be provided with more specific information on how to complete all the items below.

  • Attend a new hire orientation
  • Give Anteater Express permission to obtain your DMV driving record
  • Give your consent to become part of a drug and alcohol testing program as required by law and UCI for commercial drivers
  • Submit to a Live Scan background screening
  • Take (and pass) a DMV physical examination and pre-employment drug test
  • Obtain your commercial driver learner’s permit prior to the start of training
  • Complete our paid training program

Our paid training program consists of a minimum of 80 hours of combined in-class and behind-the-wheel instruction. The length of training varies by trainee and is based on meeting our numerous training objectives. Training for current applicants will take place on weekdays between the hours of 7am and 6pm and will be scheduled based on applicant availability. Training days are a maximum of 8 working hours per day.
