The following information was sent as an e-mail to all students on July 15, 2020:

Campus Community,

Anteater Express is in the process of planning for Fall 2020 service and focusing on a transportation strategy that follows applicable Public Health guidance and University-recommended COVID-19 mitigation measures.  In order to provide adequate service for those using our service for on-campus needs, all off-campus routes will be suspended for the Fall 2020 Quarter.  These suspended routes include the W Line (West Irvine route), D Line (District-Diamond Jamboree route), and S Line (Irvine Spectrum route).  The decision to resume these routes for future quarters will be made at a later date.  We plan on offering modified on-campus routes during Fall Quarter and more information will be provided during the summer.

The decision to suspend service on these three lines was not taken lightly, as we understand students depend on these routes for a variety of reasons. We know this may inconvenience many students, but we ultimately do not believe that Anteater Express will be able to provide adequate service on these off-campus routes while implementing COVID-19 mitigation measures. We are notifying the undergraduate student body of this now, so that you can make appropriate accommodations and planning for the fall at this time.

As an alternative for off-campus transportation in the fall, we recommend utilizing Orange County Transportation Authority bus routes and the University Pass available through Transportation and Distribution Services. The University Pass provides similar service at an affordable price to various off-campus locations.
